For all mankind, a series about a world in which the USSR was the first to reach the Moon

While NASA finalizes the details for the launch of Apollo 11, the Soviet Union wins the space race for just a few days by getting Alexei Leonov to land on June 26, 1969. So the United States space program, despite who manages to put Apollo 11 on the Moon without too much trouble, continues to be in tow from the USSR. That is why President Nixon, based on information from the CIA that suggests that the USSR is going to build a base on the Moon, decides that NASA's priority must be to establish a permanent base on the Moon.
