A father invents an app that blocks our children's phone until they respond to our text messages

Maybe you gave your child a smartphone to know where he is at all times and thus be calmer. To later discover that no matter how much you write or call him, he never responds.

Nick Herbert was tired of his 14-year-old son, Ben, ignoring his text messages. So this father, project manager of West Wickham, in England, developed an application that blocks the teenager's phone until he answers.

It works even if the phone is silent
It is called RespondASAP (formerly ReplyASAP). At the moment it is only available for Android, although its creator claims to be working on its iOS version.

And if you wonder if it works when your child leaves his phone in silence, the answer is yes. In these cases, the application activates an alarm to get the user's attention, forcing the adolescent to stop what he is doing and answer his parents if he wants to regain access to his phone.

"He is always playing and has the phone in silence. It drives me crazy," Herbert explains to PureWow. This British father has commented that now he and his son have reached an agreement: they use the application "only for important things".

The application has already been downloaded more than 130,000 times.
Isn't it a bit exaggerated?

Maybe the measure is a bit extreme. But when you have already sent 17 text messages to your child "where are you?" Without receiving an answer, you might consider taking stronger measures.

If with this app, you do not get it to respond in seconds when you hear an alarm sound insistently, nothing will succeed.
