We have just discovered the oldest material ever found on Earth: star dust from 7 billion years ago

The stardust existed long before our solar system and hitched a ride to Earth on a space rock
 A study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reveals the peculiarities of this meteorite that has now been studied in depth. It contains inside dust grains of ancient stars that are older than the Sun (around 4.6 billion years) and of course our planet. A time capsule that takes us to a time before everything we know about our existence on planet Earth
 Murchison is the name this meteorite receives
